If you're like me you might forget that you're not just a student. You're a teacher. You're a teacher because you have something to share with others.
I often feel like I can't teach others about something unless I know, in detail, the subject completely. Therefore, when discussing The Bible I often feel inadequate to teach others because I don't know everything in full detail. 1 Corinthians 13:12 states that, "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."
Truth is, no one knows everything about God or The Bible. His ways are higher than our ways, but I've been learning that this shouldn't stop us from teaching others about The Lord. Our inability to fully comprehend and explain the greatness of our God isn't a fault, it's an expression of showing how awesome He is. So awesome that no scientist, no scholar, and no human can fully comprehend His greatness.
I'm sick of the devils lies telling me that I can't teach others about God because 'I don't know enough'. When in reality I just can't fully explain our God with words. It's impossible. But I'm happy that I can't do that, for if I could explain Him with my simple words than He wouldn't be so great. I'm still learning from Him daily, and I love learning more about Him, but it's not all I should be doing.
It's time to stop the lies that I'm just a student. No, I'm a teacher because I'm in a relationship with The Lord, and He hasn't just called me to learn He's called me to teach what I've learned. To teach not only with my words, but with my actions. With His power and grace I trust that He will use me even when I don't know all the answers. Even when I make a fool of myself trying to explain His greatness.
John 14:12
I (Jesus) tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Psalm 96:2-3
Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
We are called to do what Jesus did, and trust that He will use us to do even greater things. Jesus taught, he loved deeply, and humbly trusted The Lord in/with all things. Let's teach, love deeply, and humbly trust The Lord in/with all things while declaring His glory among the nations.
Summary of what we have been doing:
This past week we helped teach and lead a Holiday Club (VBS) at a church in Maubane. We were thereMonday through Wednesday teaching the church leaders how to run it, and then they took over when we left. For a good chunk of our time there I watched and helped with the little kids so their older siblings could be with kids their own age instead of looking after their siblings. I enjoyed loving on these little ones. At the end of the day we did face painting, learned some of their games, tried not to make fools of ourselves while dancing, and just played with the kids. The reddish dirt was all over us from all the hugs, games, and fun we had playing. We were also able to show the Jesus movie one night while we were their and it was fun to watch it with them in Tswana.
Prayer:
That God would be glorified in all we do.
That The Lord would use the creative gifts He has given me for His glory.
For wisdom, courage, and patience as I continue to learn from and teach others.
That God would continue to be our peace and strength day by day.
Good health and protection.
