As I look at the sweet babies running out of a house put together with a little bit of tin and some random pieces of wood, toward a trailer that has a woman handing out smalls bowls of JAM, a soup like substance that has enough nutritional value for the day, and they scoop it out of the bowl and into their tiny mouths using their hands .. my heart breaks.
I feel bad for them because I know what they could have, but they do not have just because they were born in a poverty striken area.
But the coolest thing about my God is that as a Christian, I’m not called to fix every house to make it suitable for a child to live in. I’m not called to cradle every single baby in my arms, feed them, and rock them until they fall asleep. I’m not called to make sure all of them graduate and get a good education. I’m not called to rescue every hurt child, or wipe every tear that falls. I am not called to save them or be their savior, but I am called to point them to the One who is.
It is my job, OUR JOB, to live in a way that points people to the hope of glory!! This life is hard. This world is awful, and unfair things happen to so many innocent people. But lucky for us, this is our temporary home! It's vapor in the wind, a drop in the ocean.
We have the hope of an eternity with our Savior. Our Daddy God who is making a mansion for all of His children to live in. Who will love, hold, and protect us. Who will sit with us, and teach us about who He is. Who will rescue EVERYONE, who will wipe every tear, and make all the pain stop, forever!! We have the hope of glory with the One who created us just for Him.
